DCES School Focus
Dale City ES was celebrated in the latest episode of School Focus! Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Lofaso set up and delivered an engaging lesson with an expert at the Weems Botts Museum in Dumfries.  Our section of the clip starts 3:45 into the clip right after the Coles Diversity Garden.

Eat Well Do Well Partnership with Silver Diner
We want to thank the Silver Diner for letting us do our fund raiser with them.  Our very own DCES staff took over the dining room at the Silver Diner to serve our families.  It was a  lot of fun and resulted in good times for everyone.  The money we raised goes to fund our after school buses.  Without this fund raiser we would not be able to have after-school clubs.

Parent Portal

Dear Parents:

As you may know, we are transitioning to an electronic gradebook this year so if you do not see grades for your student, please be patient. We continue to work through some challenges with the transition to the new system and all grades will soon be posted. Please contact your teacher directly for an update on your child's progress.

Thank you.

RIDING THE SCHOOL BUS IS A PRIVILEGE

The Code of Virginia, Section 22.1-176, permits school boards to provide transportation for pupils, BUT does not require them to do so. Riding the PWCS school buses to and from school IS A PRIVILEGE. Students need to follow all school bus rules & regulations, as stated in the 2011-2012 Code of Behavior. Should a student be reported to administration, administration will be responsible for disciplinary action, which may include the loss of the privilege of bus transportation. During the first week of school, read over the Code of Behavior with your child(ren) so they understand the expectations of appropriate bus behavior. Remember, riding the school bus is a PRIVILEGE.
